Why I Love This Healthy Granola Recipe:

This healthy granola is so much better than anything I’ve found at the store. As someone who’s always reading ingredient labels, I’ve noticed that many store-bought granolas contain processed inflammatory oils and excessive sugar.

Because my family loves granola, I decided to make my own using wholesome, unprocessed ingredients. After several attempts, I perfected this simple recipe that delivers delicious and nutritious granola with a few pantry staples.

The Perfect Combination of Ingredients

This recipe is incredibly easy to follow. It’s made from rolled oats, your favorite nuts and seeds, and a simple honey-coconut syrup that’s baked to perfection into sweet, crunchy clusters. What makes this recipe even better is that it’s sweetened only with honey, making it a healthier choice for snacking or breakfast.

Once you try this healthy granola, you’ll never go back to store-bought versions. It’s not only delicious but also stores well for up to a month. Plus, it’s made with simple, whole ingredients you can feel good about. Enjoy!

Ingredients to make granola; oats, pumpkin seeds, sliced almonds, chia seeds, honey, coconut oil, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.

Best Healthy Granola Ingredients:

  • Oats: Old-fashioned, whole grain rolled oats are the base of this recipe.
  • Nuts & Seeds: I used sliced almonds, pumpkin seeds and chia seeds, but feel free to swap them out for your favorite nuts and seeds. Pecans are a delicious alternative we use often.
  • Coconut oil: I love using coconut oil because it adds subtle coconut flavor and creates irresistibly crunchy granola. If you are not a fan of coconut, butter or avocado oil offer a delicious alternative.
  • Honey: My go-to sweetener. It coats the oats and nuts perfectly, giving the granola those signature sweet, crunchy clusters.
  • Spices: Cinnamon adds warmth and depth, salt balances the sweetness of the honey, and the vanilla enhances the aroma.

Optional Mix-Ins:

  • Chocolate Chips: For a chocolatey treat, add chocolate chips after the granola has baked and cooled completely.
  • Coconut Flakes: For coconut granola, add shredded coconut halfway through baking.
  • Dried Fruit: Add your favorite dried fruit after the granola has baked and cooled. Some great options are dried strawberries, cranberries, or raisins.

The Best Healthy Granola Recipe Tips:

  • Crunchy Clusters: To get large, crunchy clusters, press the granola mixture down with the back of a spoon onto the parchment-lined baking sheet halfway through baking. Also let the granola cool completely undisturbed on the pan for at least 1 hour. It may seem soft right out of the oven, but as it cools, it hardens into big, crunchy clusters.
  • Baking pan: A basic half sheet pan is ideal for the amount of ingredients on this recipe. The ingredients should be spread out enough to bake through but also touch in order to form clusters. Be sure to line your pan with parchment paper so the honey sticks to the oats and not the pan.

Storage Tips:

  • Place granola in an airtight container for the best shelf life- up to one month.
